Hunting Actions That Unlock Achievements

Hunting Simulator 3 has achievement objectives for analyzing a track, discovering a need zone, earning a perfect hunter score, making a heart shot, landing a one-shot kill beyond 500 meters, and harvesting a diamond-scoring animal. For a lodge trophy, purchase the correct hunting license before the harvest; the hunting lodge lets you display harvested trophies.

02

Named Achievement Objectives

Steam lists 26 achievements overall. The named hunting objectives below call for specific actions or results, so choose the requirement you want to pursue before heading into the field.

AchievementRequired hunting action
PoirotAnalyze your first track.
Habitat HunterDiscover a need zone.
Ethical HunterEarn a perfect hunter score.
SurgeonMake a heart shot.
DeadeyeMake a one-shot kill from beyond 500 meters.
Top of the ClassHarvest an animal with a diamond score.

Other achievement objectives include purchasing a dog, purchasing a vehicle, completing a hard contract, collecting special-fur animals, and completing regional Field Journal objectives. Keep these goals alongside your hunting targets when planning your next outing. The Field Journal also awards region-specific Field Points for completing its objectives, which you can use to customize that region's lodge appearance.

Prepare a Harvest for Lodge Display

Start with the license and equipment checks before committing to a trophy animal. Without the correct hunting license, the harvest cannot become a validated trophy. Use the species' recommended caliber icons to guide your equipment choice.

  1. Purchase the correct hunting license from the computer in your Hunting Lodge before harvesting the animal, so the missing license does not prevent trophy validation.
  2. Check the recommended caliber icons for your target species before heading out, so you can prepare equipment suited to that animal.
  3. Hold the inspect input on an animal track to follow a specific animal rather than moving between trails without a chosen target.
  4. Identify your target through binoculars before taking aim, giving yourself a chance to assess the animal before committing to the shot.
  5. Aim at vital organs such as the lungs, heart, or liver for a clean harvest; choose the heart when you are specifically attempting Surgeon.
  6. Display a harvested trophy in your hunting lodge to showcase the result of your hunt.
04

Separate Shot Requirements From Trophy Quality

Surgeon asks for a heart shot, while Deadeye requires a one-shot kill beyond 500 meters. For Deadeye, both the distance and the kill requirement matter; a distant hit alone is not the stated objective. Decide which requirement you are attempting before choosing your shooting opportunity.

Ethical Hunter asks for a perfect hunter score, whereas Top of the Class asks for a diamond-scoring animal. Trophy scoring considers the animal's weight, age, antler or horn set, your hunting license, and the appropriateness of your caliber. Keep those animal and equipment factors in mind instead of treating shot placement as the entire trophy-quality decision.

Animals grow and age through SimFauna, and their genetics influence trophy potential. Assess the animal in front of you when choosing a trophy target. If you want to practice shot placement before another attempt, use the Shooting Range at your Hunting Lodge.

05

Lodge Displays and Taxidermy Poses

The hunting lodge supports displaying harvested trophies and changing its appearance. Photo Mode is a separate way to capture moments from your hunts. Freely posing a harvested animal was not supported at launch.

The Apex Predator Pack adds more than 20 taxidermy poses and a Royal interior theme. Consider these display options when planning the look of your lodge.
